What Is A Traditional Service

Funeral services can take many shapes, even those termed traditional. There is no right or wrong way to honor the life of your loved one and at Harder Funeral Home, we offer multiple options when it comes to planning a traditional funeral service.

The Traditional Service:

The defining factor of a traditional funeral service is if your loved one wishes to be buried or viewed in a casket. However, there are many options to choose from to meet your family and loved one’s needs within the realm of a traditional funeral service.

Full Traditional Service:

The full traditional service offered by Harder Funeral Home is a service that takes place with an open or closed casket. These services are commonly preceded by a visitation period for family and friends, and followed by a service at the funeral home or church. The full traditional service ends with a graveside or cemetery service, where your loved one is laid to rest.

Traditional Service Followed by Cremation:

Harder Funeral Home’s traditional service followed by cremation begins similarly to a full traditional service. Family and friends are allowed visitation time followed by a funeral home or church service. Once these traditional services are complete, cremation takes place. Consult us for options involving cremated remains.

Immediate Burial:

Upon your loved one’s passing, you may choose an immediate burial service. While there is no visitation time or funeral service offered, a graveside or cemetery service may be held if you desire.

Memorial Service:

Memorial services honor your loved one even when their body is not physically present. It is a time to gather, celebrate and share memories of loved ones. This service may be held wherever the family desires.

It is our belief at Harder Funeral Home that celebrating one’s life should be as unique as the person it honors. Our staff is dedicated to helping families find personal and special ways to memorialize lost loved ones. We also understand the difficulty of facing these decisions. Start the conversation today to be prepared for tomorrow.
