Obituary for Mary "Pat" Keller

(Nee McDonald) Of Elm Grove, WI passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI.

Mary Patricia "Pat" Keller was born on May 1, 1924 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Larene and Donnelly McDonald. "Patsy" was the first girl born to the McDonald Family in 100 years, a distinction that conferred special status with her father, who doted on her. She was the second of four children, joining Donnelly Jr and serving as big sister to Jo Ellen and Travers. Patsy attended St. Patrick's School in Fort Wayne, graduating in June, 1938. She went on to attend Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne graduating in 1942 and the College of St. Theresa in Winona, MN, graduating in 1946 with a degree in Elementary Education. After college, Pat worked briefly as a teacher at Harrison Hill School in Fort Wayne before marrying her sweetheart, George Keller. George and Pat married at St. Patrick's Church on Thanksgiving day, November 27th, 1947. They were blessed with seven children: George, Mary Larene (Patrick Daniel), Sarah (the late Harris Draayers), Peter, John, Mark (Terri) and Anne (Steve) Ryan, 16 grandchildren: Chris (Kerry) and Andrew Keller, Kate Payne (Tony), Jesse Daniel, Harry Draayers (Riley), Hannah Draayers, Casey, Danny and Jackson Keller, John Keller, Amelia, Isabel, Emma, Olivia, Peter and Joseph Ryan and 7 great-grandchildren: Liam, Quinn, Colin and Paddy Keller, Eloise, Penny and Teddy Payne. Pat modelled grace and kindness for her family and lived these virtues to the end of her life. Her compassionate sweetness blessed everyone around her; she was the rare person who could count as many new friends as she could old.

Pat is preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, George, daughter Mary Larene, son-in-law Harris "Biff" Draayers, and many other dear friends and relatives who surely welcomed her with joy in Heaven.

MARY'S VISITATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1260 Church St. (corner of Juneau Blvd and Church St.) Elm Grove, WI for the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:15 PM. Reception and fellowship to follow.
