Alexander Cody Ehr
"I love God. . . I have to go". . . said Alex as he began his new life with Jesus on February 22, 2012. Alex was born in Brookfield on July 10, 1992, the beloved son of Andrew and Kerry (nee Nielsen) Ehr. He is the amazing and devoted brother of Kelsy and the cherished and adored grandson of Richard and Luanne Ehr, Ned (Jan) Nielsen and Peggy Nielsen "Mimi." He is the incredibly loving nephew of his Aunt and Godmother Kristy (Kevin) Weber, Kevin Nielsen, Deborah Ehr, Steve (Connie) Ehr and Amy Ehr, and is also survived by his Godfather Uncle John (Connie) Jaeger, his girlfriend and sweetheart Audrey, and many other loving relatives and friends throughout the country.
Alex graduated from Brookfield East High School in 2010 and was currently a sophomore at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He is a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, and loved his brotherhood.
He lived life to the fullest, was a best friend to many, and his compassionate heart touched everyone who knew and loved him. He was very active in high school and college. He played baseball, basketball, and intramurals. He enjoyed golfing with Dad and his Boppa, and waterskiing and fishing at Grandpa Ned's. He was a great fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Kentucky Wildcats. Go Cats!
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alex's memory may be directed to Spring Creek Church, the Univ. of Kentucky Newman Center, or J9 Foundation.org.
Our family wishes to especially thank all of Alex's many friends and their wonderful moms and families for loving Alex as one of their own, our giving neighbors and friends, Dr. Leach for a lifetime of golden care, Lauri Balicki for her amazing compassion, and our lovable Malibu for his canine love.
