Obituary for Suzanne G. Carroll

(Nee Winter) Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 83 years. She was born on January 3, 1935 to George and Patricia (nee Consodine) Winter. Loving and devoted wife of the late Jim Carroll. Cherished mother of Tim (Amy) Carroll and Kelly Carroll. Grandmother of Katie, Erin and Madeline Carroll, Angela and Andrew Schilling, Sarah (Andy) Engel and Zachary Vander Velde n. Special great-grandmother of Adalynn Engel. She will further be remembered by her sister Jill Bujanowski, sister-in-law Marcy Carroll, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Patricia Winter and her sister Donna Chinnock Geisel.

Suzy grew up in Milwaukee and lived her whole life in Wisconsin. Suzy attended Holy Angels High School (now called DSHA), Duchense College, Mount Mary College and UW-Madison to obtain an Associates Degree in Medical Technology. She worked for over 30 years as a Medical Technologist in the field of oncology fighting to help cancer patients. She was very proud of the comfort she provided to patients and the progress made over the years that led to a vast increase in the number of patients that were cured. She met her husband Jim Carroll at a bar and married him November 25, 1959 and adopted 2 children.

Suzy had an infectious personality and tremendous sense of humor. She and Jim were always the life of the party wherever they went, “first to get there, last to leave!”. She had many, many friends she cherished throughout life and is especially grateful to those who were able to support, comfort and entertain her this past year.

Suzy loved playing cards, especially with her many bridge clubs, gambling at the casino, watching Packer games on Sunday and golfing. She had a spirit of adventure and enjoyed traveling with good friends and family all over the United States and the world.
Friends and family can gather in Suzy’s honor on Saturday, June 2 at HARDER FUNERAL HOME from 10:00 AM until the time to share and celebrate her life at 11:00 AM with a reception at Thunder Bay Grille in Pewaukee.

Our family would like to publicly thank VITAS (especially Jamie and Wylma) and Rent-A-Daughter (especially Ellen) for the unconditional love, care and support they provided to Suzy over the past year. You helped make her dream to stay in her home come true.
