Obituary for Andrew G. Repko

George Repko born May 17, 1927 passed away peacefully on July 6, 2018 in Brookfield,
Wisconsin. Born in Streator, IL to Elizabeth and Andrew Repko in a family with 3 siblings, Mary Ann (O’Neil), Barbara (Finley), and Donald. He started caddying for a golf club in Streator and became incredibly interested in the game of golf. That passion lasted his entire life. Following his graduation from high school, George was drafted into the Army and served our Nation in WWII. When his service completed, he studied engineering at Bradley University earning a degree in 1951. His first job was with Protection Mutual in which he was transferred to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. George thought Wisconsin was terrific! As an avid outdoorsman, George took up hunting, fishing and continued feeding his love of golf by joining North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls, WI.

George and Joyce met in 1960 at the Company home office in Chicago and they married in 1962. Starting a life based in Brookfield, WI, George and Joyce completed their family of 4 with Brian and Julie.

George became interested in carving birds and took several classed on how to carve and paint with expertise. During his retirement he became a Master Carver entering several competitions a year and winning many blue ribbons. George retired from Aon in 1991 at age 62.

During retirement, George and Joyce spent part of the winter in Sarasota, FL closer to Joyce’s
family and enjoying the warm weather. George pursued his outdoor hobbies of fishing, shelling, and golfing. George and Joyce enjoyed the many artistic events that were held in Sarasota.

George was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookfield.

George is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce Repko, son W. Brian (Kristin) Repko
daughter Julie (Marc) Lawrence, and grandchildren Reagan and Nate Lawrence. Also left to
cherish his memory is brother Donald Repko along with many treasured nieces and nephews,
cousins and friends. His sisters Barbara Finley and Mary Ann O’Neil preceded George in death.

Visitation at Harder Funeral Home 18700 W Capitol Drive, Brookfield on Thursday, July 12 from 4:00pm until the time of funeral service at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St Jude Children’s Hospital are appreciated.
